✨ Now providing teletherapy services throughout Illinois. Additional state licensure coming soon!
Here are answers to some of the questions families ask most often. If you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to reach out — I'd be happy to help.
Every child develops at their own pace, but if you have concerns about your child's speech, language, literacy, or communication skills, it's always okay to ask questions. An evaluation can help determine whether therapy is appropriate and provide guidance on the next steps.
We'll begin with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to learn more about your child's needs and answer any questions you may have. If speech therapy seems like a good fit, we'll schedule an evaluation or discuss beginning services based on your child's individual situation.
Evaluations are designed to be relaxed, engaging, and child-friendly. I'll spend time getting to know your child through conversation, play, and standardized or informal assessments as appropriate. Afterward, we'll review the results together and discuss personalized recommendations.
I provide speech-language services for children and adolescents of all ages. Therapy activities are individualized to match each child's developmental level, interests, and communication goals.
Every session is designed to be engaging, meaningful, and personalized. I use evidence-based techniques, play-based activities, and functional materials to help children build communication skills while having fun and staying motivated.
Therapy goals are based on evaluation results, caregiver input, and your child's unique strengths and needs. If your child has previous evaluations or therapy goals, those may also be incorporated to provide continuity of care whenever appropriate.
Most children attend therapy once per week, depending on their individual needs and goals. Together, we'll determine a schedule that best supports your child's progress while fitting your family's routine.
I encourage parents and caregivers to attend the initial evaluation and at least one therapy session while your child becomes comfortable. From there, we'll decide together what level of involvement works best. Regular check-ins and home strategies help support continued progress outside of therapy.
Teletherapy sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Sessions are interactive, engaging, and individualized, allowing children to participate from the comfort of home while receiving the same high-quality care.
You'll need a computer or tablet with a webcam, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet space with minimal distractions. I'll provide any additional recommendations before your first session to help everything run smoothly.
Yes! Research has shown that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person services for many speech and language goals. Success often depends on your child's individual needs, attention, and caregiver participation, and we'll work together to determine the best approach.
